About Mohammed Barakat

Born in Kuwait in 1975 and grew up in Amman, Jordan. Graduated from the University of Jordan (Al-Jami’ah Al-Urdunia) in 1998 with Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. In 1998 Mohammed worked for PETRA Engineering Industries Company as a Production Engineer. In 2000 he moved to Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, to work for a steel manufacturer (SHMICO) where he worked as production planner and Quality Management Representative (QMR). In SHMICO Mohammed built a Quality Management System after which SHMICO became ISO9001 certified. In 2001 he worked for an ERP Solutions Company (Houston Technologies) in which he was titled Assistant GM/Implementation Operations.

In April, 2002 Mohammed joined Aramex International, a logistics and supply chain company. Throughout the nearly nine years of employment in Aramex he worked as Express Service Team Leader then moved to the Finance Team where he works until now as Process Improvement Specialist.

One of the common roles Mohammed has played amongst all positions was to transition business processes from a current less-efficient state to a new efficient and effective one using methodologies, tools, and techniques of Project Management, Quality Management, Process Improvement, and Information Technology-programming.

Mohammed exploited Visual Basic and Microsoft Office applications to improve business processes. He managed and developed applications to automate operational and financial processes. He is specialized in business and functional requirements definition and analysis, Use Case development, process modeling, mapping As-Is and To-Be state processes, problem-solving and critical thinking to identify business needs and solutions to satisfy them, working with teams to ensure project completion to stakeholders needs, scheduling with MS Project, programming with Office Excel and Access VBA, group facilitation, group training, and training material design.

As Project Manager he manages and implements technical projects that boost productivity and efficiency, cut down on waste, and make processes lean. He developed an internal project management methodology to manage and implement projects more effectively.

As Trainer he delivers training programs striving to guide people to the best practices in using Microsoft Technologies that will cut their manual work and increase their productivity. He delivered more than 40 training programs in Jordan, UAE, UK, and Ireland.

As Financial Analyst, using a Visual Basic application of his own development, Mohammed measures the appropriateness and validity of financial and pricing goals and measures the degree of achieving them in an effort to increase effectiveness of the pricing function and, in turn, to increase profitability.

Mohammed is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP),  Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB), ASQ Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB), Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)-Project 2007 Managing Projects, and a Microsoft Office Master Instructor (MMI). He is continuously pursuing opportunities to develop his profession in project and quality management.
